My Story
Hey, I’m Kent and I come from New Zealand. Like many native English speakers I grew up in a monolingual household and I didn’t start learning languages until high school. Unfortunately for me, I quickly became disillusioned with the traditional methods of language teaching and dropped French after my first year. At the age of 21, I decided to spend a year abroad in Germany with the goal of learning the language. I had hardly any language learning experience and spent that first year attending a language school. Again, I made progress but I still didn’t enjoy the style of teaching as I felt it wasn’t efficient or enjoyable. Ever since then, I’ve been learning languages predominantly through self-study which I’ve found to be much more rewarding and it has led to much better results. The purpose of this website is just to share my thoughts when it comes to language learning.
